Well, we are back in Tennessee after leaving New York with a bang. Our Independence Day weekend consisted of loading up the moving truck, playing corn hole, eating junk food, drinking adult beverages, burning Christmas trees in a bonfire, and setting off a ton of fireworks. It was really quite epic. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures of the fireworks because I was busy covering my son’s ears. But really, everyone knows what fireworks look like, right?
The drive home was uneventful, thankfully, but transferring the contents of the moving truck into the storage unit was brutal. 90 degrees, parked in full sun, kids going crazy after a long car ride… not fun. Plus, once we were done with that, we had to get back to the campground and set the camper up again, at a different site this time. I was planning on writing a blog post that night, but when we checked into the campground they told us the internet was down. Lovely. We went to bed early, instead.
The rest of last week is a bit of a blur, and now my husband is back at work again. So I guess the plan is to settle back into camper/work life, and then uproot again once we finally move into the house. At least we don’t need to move the entire storage unit to the house in a single day if we don’t feel like it.
The only update I have on the house situation is that… we have no move-in date. Seriously, I don’t know how this could get any more dramatic and drawn out than it already is. There is something going on at the seller’s end of the deal so they can’t move out yet. So here we are, just trucking along at the campground until further notice. I’m just happy we’re back home again, and all our stuff is finally here, too. We’re getting there! No clue when, but we’re getting there.
