For the past month or so, Will the goat has come and gone. But once he started spending more time here than in the woods- and chewing holes in bags of pig feed- we decided it was time to make him his own little home.
Catching him took a few tries, but now he is happily situated in the barn. We used two old gates that were here when we moved in to make a pen for him. It’s right next to his buddies, the pigs. He has his own comfy straw, fresh water, and feed/hay.
We’re really hoping he will get healthier. Now that we can get close to him and observe him throughout the day, we’re noticing more little things that don’t seem quite right. His horns are in rough shape, and he has several scars on his face. Living in the woods for a few years really took a toll on him. I bet he’d have some amazing survival stories to tell if he could talk!
I don’t know if he’ll ever have thick, shiny hair, or let us pet him, but it’s nice to know he’s at least being taken care of now.
A sweet addition to the farm! What will the next one be???
Awe, I love this!
