I’m trying to not get my hopes up too much yet, but it’s looking like we may be able to move into our house next weekend. I think the worst that could happen at this point is that we have to wait a few additional days. At least we’re talking days now, not weeks. It’s a good thing, too, because we are all DONE with this whole process. Now that we are finally so close, it’s time to start getting super excited!
These are the top 5 things I’m looking forward to the most:
My piano, aka my first baby. It’s been in storage since mid-April, and I miss it even more than I thought I would.
Laundry at home. A washing machine that actually cleans the clothes, plus a clothesline in the back yard for sun-dried sheets and towels.
Property and privacy, the ultimate American Dream duo. Space for the kiddos to explore outside, all neighbors more than 10 feet away, and enough room inside the house that it takes more than a single step to get from the living room to the kitchen.
The kitchen, with its normal-size fridge, an oven that fits a 17″ roasting pan, and a sink you can wash a whole frying pan in.
A real bathroom with a big ole tub to scrub my babies in, and a hot water tank that can promise an exhausted mama more than a 5-minute-long shower.
I guess I should also include what my husband is looking forward to the most:
The huge shop out back.
See #1.
It’s kind of funny to me how buying a house was really only supposed to be a tiny part of our Tennessee story, and instead it became an entire chapter. Hopefully it wasn’t so bad that no one wants to read what happens next. No promises on what’s going to happen once we move, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be awesome.
